My effort this week is messy and it might not make sense. *insert wrestling thoughts and questions*
If in sharing these questions I come off ignorant, then here I am, ignorantly wanting to learn.
For some reason, questions started to surface while writing this assignment more than other weeks. The harder I tried to get a clear thought down, the more lost I got.
^ If you're on the verge of being lost, you might as well just say it. I wrote the above please-bear-with-me note while submitting my work. Getting lost is human. ^
Lost in place, lost in thought, lost for words, lost in misunderstanding, loss of motivation, loss of identity, lost in translation. . . there are so many kinds of lost. Have you ever thought about levels of lost-ness?
You might go from level one, knowing where you are to,
"It's getting hard to see where I'm going" to
"I'm not sure where this is heading but I have a totally reliable yet totally questionable gut thing
that should kick in" to
"I am sort of lost, but I still kind of know where I am" to
"I might be lost," to
"My gut navigation betrays me" which translated is:
"I am completely lost."
Do you go through levels of lost-ness gracefully? Or is it a chaotic commotion of curses? Is it wonderful or lonely? Frustrating or adventurous? How does getting lost change you?
I think we tend to hold on tightly to knowing our surroundings because getting lost can be scary.
Humans want to know. Maybe if we humbly admit being lost, we wouldn't be as worried or embarrassed or upset or bewildered or disappointed when it happens.
But don't look at me for answers, I'm just as lost as you.

Andy Mineo - "I've Been..." "Clarity" & "Lost" - that's what this made me think of. Even when you're lost, you're still cooler than most people I know! :) <3 #WhatTheH
