I desperately need a savior.
And a savior came. The only one, Jesus.
Born in a manger, to bear the cross and forgive our sins.
Luke 1-3
For you know the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich,
yet for your sake he became poor,
so that you by his poverty might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9
Why wouldn't you want that to be true?
A pastor asked that question in his sermon, and it struck a chord with me.
The gospel brings good news.
Why wouldn't you want to believe it is true?
All of the promises of the gospel are ours when we believe.
Promises I can't even wrap my head around, but hold on to in faith.
Death defeated,
life eternal,
the Holy Spirit working in us to sanctify us and make us more like Jesus,
a citizen of heaven,
mind-blowing, humbling grace,
sins forgiven,
beloved, beloved, beloved by God.
In Christ, I am rich.
In Christ, by his sacrifice, I have everything I need.
Thank you for coming for us, Jesus.
Thank you for bringing light to our darkness.
"I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life." John 8:13
I am born again into light,
because you were born into darkness,
so that we can be born again into your light.
Thank you, Jesus, that I do not walk in darkness anymore.
I walk in your light.
Your light covering every step,
keeping my life,
guarding our faith,
for salvation to be revealed when you come again.
1 Peter 1:3-9
